Materials Trading

The Process:

The process that you will need to go through to deal with your waste materials is already well-defined, making it easy to understand what you need to do when you want to trade your recyclable waste.

Stage One

The first stage will involve preparing the recyclable waste within your own facility. You can use machinery like balers and compactors for this. Materials Recovery can provide these tools to get you started.

Stage Two

The second stage is finding a re-processor within the UK and Europe for your recyclable waste materials.  Materials Recovery has contacts in a range of countries across Europe to help you with this.

Stage Three

The final stage in this process will see us transporting your waste to a registered UK or overseas re-processor.

Countries We Cover

Materials Recovery has re-processors in a range of EU/OECD countries providing the maximum opportunity to source end re-processors for your materials and to increase revenue. This gives you a lot of opportunities to sell and export your recyclable waste materials, even if you can’t find a buyer in the UK.

Materials That We Accept

We accept a huge range of materials for trade and export, including some of the most widely used packaging and manufacturing materials in the world. You can find a list of our accepted materials below.

PET Recycling

PET is one of the most popular plastics in the world, and it is used for creating items like drinks bottles and packaging.

HDPE Recycling

High-density polyethene is another extremely common plastic, used for creating strong bottles, piping, and a range of other products, as well as drums for transporting liquids.

PVC Recycling

PVC is most commonly known as a building material for windows and pipes, but it is also used to manufacturer an array of other products that need a long lifespan.

LDPE Recycling

Low-density polyethene is another common plastic that is used to create packaging, but it is also used for injection moulding in manufacturing.

PP Recycling

PP Plastic is incredibly versatile, often being used for things like buckets, tubs and crates along with packaging and being a popular choice for plastic machinery parts and even synthetic fabrics.

PS Recycling

Most people have heard of Polystyrene. This polymer is used for impact reduction packaging, along with disposable items like cups and cutlery.

PC Recycling

PC is long-lasting, can be coloured or clear, and is extremely versatile, making it a popular choice for manufacturing products of all types like CDs/DVDs, baby bottles, large water cooler bottles, and older conservatory roofs.

ABS Recycling

Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene is one of the most common plastics used for 3D printing, but it is also widely used for injection moulding thanks to its low cost.

EPS Recycling

Expanded Polystyrene comes in the form of a foam, and is often used for applications like packaging and insulation.

Materials Trading & Revenue Generation

Dealing with waste materials can often be a challenge for businesses. Finding an environmentally friendly way to deal with waste can be very costly, and this means that many businesses need to be able to sell and trade their waste. Materials Recovery can both trade and re-process the recyclable materials generated by your business, often delivering a positive rebate.

Recyclables Suitable for Reprocessing

Not all materials are suitable for recycling and reprocessing, even if they are typically considered recyclable. Materials Recovery can deal with the options below, giving you the chance to easily get rid of the waste that is clogging up your business.

End of Life

Machinery, products, and other items that have reached the end of their usable life can be reprocessed and made into new items.

Manufacturers Waste

No manufacturing process is 100% efficient, and this means that there will always be waste materials when you work in this industry. These materials can often be reprocessed and traded, giving companies the chance to reduce their waste.

Packaging Waste

Whether you run a store, a factory, or anything in between, packing is likely to form a large portion of the waste that you produce. Packaging made from a variety of different materials can be traded and reprocessed.

Redundant Stock

Old stock that can no longer be sold as-is can be reprocessed and potentially sold or securely destroyed if required.
