Compaction & Baling Equipment

Waste Compactor Services

Materials Recovery can provide your business with a full range of static and portable compactors either for sale or rental on fully flexible terms. Compactors are suitable for compacting recycling and waste streams such as cardboard, plastics, films and general waste.

Compactors come in many different sizes to suit the needs of your business and can reduce waste volumes by 5-1 ratio depending on the type and density of the waste.

Static waste compactors are usually used by companies producing large volumes of bulky waste material. Portable compactors provide an alternative solution if a static compactor is not suitable.

Service & Repair

Like any machine, your compactor needs to be serviced on a regular basis. Our experts can handle this process for you, while also performing any necessary repairs to ensure that your compactor is able to keep running.

Planned Maintenance

Planning ahead and performing maintenance before a machine breaks down can be a good way to keep your operation running smoothly. We can provide planned maintenance services, ensuring that your business is always operational.

Refurbishment

Machines like compactors can have a very long lifespan, but they will often need to be refurbished to get the most out of them once they get old. Materials Recovery Ltd can breathe new life into your compactor machinery.

Compactor Hire

We understand that businesses don’t always need an on-site compactor that they can use all the time. For this reason, we offer compactor hire to make it easy to get your hands on the machinery that you need, when you need it.

Recyclable Buyers

Once recyclables such as cardboard and plastics are baled, Materials Recovery will purchase these materials from you, often generating a positive revenue subject to payloads and maximising the return on your investment.

Baling Machines

Alongside our compactor machine services, we also offer a host of different types of baling machines to our clients. These can be bespoke and made especially for your business or you can choose either to purchase outright or to lease on flexible terms.

There are several horizontal and vertical baling machines to consider for your business:

Fully Automatic Horizontal

These are ideal for large companies producing recyclables looking to form ‘mill’ size bales. These are typically used within the manufacturing, distribution, retail, and recycling operations.

Semi-Automatic Horizontal

Semi-automatic balers cannot work on their own but will be able to automate much of the process. Ideal for companies who don’t have the throughput to justify having a fully automatic baler.

Cardboard Balers

Designed to specifically work with materials like cardboard. This makes it ideal for companies that deal with a lot of cardboard packaging waste and want to send materials for recycling and save on space.

Plastic Balers

Designed to work with materials such as films and rigid plastics. These balers are designed to maximise space on site and produce bales that will give you a return on investment.

Bale Sizes

Balers produce different sizes of bales according to type.

Mill Size balers are ideal for all types of business who produce a lot of recyclables and want to yield bale weights of 400-550kg.

Mid Size Balers are ideal if you have recyclables but don’t necessarily need the larger bale weight. These yields bale weights of 200-250kg.

Small Balers are ideal for producers of cardboard and polythene films such as retail shops. Perfect if you haven’t got space for a larger one. Produces bales weighing between 30-100kg.

Industrial

Industrial balers are large, well-built, and designed for operations that have to deal with huge amounts of waste. Options like this are usually chosen by manufacturing companies that require a lot of material processing.

Mill Size

Mill size balers are usually smaller than industrial balers but are often chosen thanks to their ability to produce incredibly uniform bales. This makes them great for companies that need to transport their waste materials efficiently.

Mid Size

Mid-size balers are typically fairly small, making them ideal for smaller industrial applications. Many low-scale manufacturing companies choose this sort of baler for their waste and recycling management.

Small Size

As their name suggests, small-size balers are the smallest option on this list. Options in this category are mostly used in places like supermarkets and other businesses that need to be able to deal with waste without taking up too much space.

Cardboard Buyers

Once waste like cardboard is baled, businesses can often find buyers to take it off their hands. Materials Recovery can buy good quality recyclable materials from your business, making it easy for you to deal with the waste you have processed with your machinery.

What is a Shredder?

A shredding machine will shred large quantities of paper, media and other types of waste very quickly. Available in a range of sizes to suit all types of businesses and some models come with a combined baler.
